Former Iowa football captain, Harris, dies 
Homer Harris, the first black captain of a Big Ten Conference football team in 1937 at Iowa and later a longtime Seattle dermatologist, has died. Harris died on March 17 of complications from Alzheimer’s disease. He was 90.
